Books, periodicals and one manuscript (31 chapters) by and about Chen Yuan (1880 C.E.-1971 C.E), one of the most influential historians of twentieth century China. In addition, there are books on the time and environment in which Chen Yuan lived. The manuscript is entitled "Daojia Jinshi Lüe." Notable books included are an early 19th century edition of "Yu hai" and a 1917 edition of "Zi zhi tong jian". Books by Lesu Chen (1902 C.E.-1990 C.E.), Chen's son, and Zhichao Chen (1934 C.E.- ), Chen's grandson, both also accomplished historians are also part of the collection.
